This policy explains how Tu Visa Australiana (the "site") collects, uses and protects the personal information you provide. We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Who we are

The site is operated by Sabine, who works as case manager on the team of a law firm registered in New South Wales. All legal services in Australia are delivered through that firm, under the supervision of the principal solicitor (Australian Legal Practitioner Number: 5511743).

2. What we collect

When you complete the contact form on the site we collect:

  • Your full name
  • Your email address
  • The legal area of your enquiry
  • The content of the message you send us
  • Basic technical information your browser transmits automatically (such as your IP address), only for site-security and operational purposes

If you later decide to engage the firm's services, additional information will be collected as needed to represent your matter (identity documents, immigration history, financial information, etc.). That collection is governed by the firm's professional engagement agreement, not this policy.

3. How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and arrange an initial conversation
  • To coordinate your orientation and, if you wish, pass your enquiry to the firm's lawyers, who assess whether they can assist
  • To send you follow-up information, if you have expressly agreed to it
  • To meet legal, tax or regulatory obligations in Australia

We do not send unsolicited marketing, and we do not sell your information to third parties.

4. Who we share it with

Your information is only shared with:

  • The admitted lawyers at the firm Sabine works with, to the extent necessary to assess and attend to your enquiry
  • Trusted technology providers that host the site and process its forms (currently: Netlify, Inc., based in the USA). Their terms and privacy practices apply to the technical handling of the data
  • Australian authorities where required by law

5. How we store it

Form enquiries are stored in the site's dashboard (Netlify Forms) and in the firm's email account. We apply reasonable technical safeguards: encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls on those accounts, and deletion of the data when it is no longer needed.

6. How long we keep it

We keep form messages for up to 24 months from the last communication, unless longer retention is required by law or professional obligations (for example, if you became a client of the firm).

7. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate or out-of-date information
  • Request deletion of your information, subject to any applicable legal obligations
  • Withdraw consent to future communications at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email us at tuvisaaustraliana@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days.

8. Cookies and analytics

To understand general use of the site, our own analytics uses no tracking cookies and does not identify individual visitors. The only persistent information saved in your browser is your language preference (ES/EN), which is stored locally so the site remembers your choice between visits.

Site statistics. To understand in general terms how this site is used, we measure visits anonymously through our hosting provider's server logs. We do not use tracking cookies, we do not store your IP address, and we do not collect any information that personally identifies you.

We also use the Meta (Facebook) pixel to measure the effectiveness of our advertising; this tool may use cookies and share usage data with Meta, in line with Meta's privacy policies.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect legal or operational changes. The "last updated" date at the top tells you when it was last changed.

10. Contact and complaints
